Dr Dilip Patel is Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering Department of
Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT)
Surat. He has graduation in Civil Engineering from Government
Engineering College, Modasa (Gujarat). Then he got his M.Tech. in
Construction Project Management from Center for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) Ahmedabad. He also obtained a degree of Law from Veer
Narmad South Gujarat University Surat. He got his PhD degree
from IIT Delhi on his thesis “Estimating number of fatal
accidents and investigating determinants of safety
performance in Indian construction”. He served Electro Steel
Infrastructure Services, Kolkata as a project executive. Since
2007, he has been serving SVNIT Surat as a faculty of civil
engineering since 2007. Now he is an Associated Dean
(Planning and Development). He has two years experiences of
industry and twelve years experiences of teaching. He has
published more than 30 papers in a number of international
and national journals and a number of international
conferences held in Canada, U.K., Singapore, Malaysia, U.S.A.,
Germany, and India. He is a lifetime member of ISTE, IEI, ORIS,
ISTE, NSCI, ICEA. He has guided 12 PG students for their
dissertations and now five PhD students are working under his
guidance. His area of specialization and current interest areas
of research are construction project management,
construction technology, safety, demolition, heritage
conservation, Building Information Modelling, Resilience,
sustainable infrastructure and PPP. He is a principal
investigator from India in this project and will bring his
expertise to manage and lead an Indian project team. He will
bring his expertise for local stakeholder collaboration, data
collection, and dissemination to identify the key points for
enhancing cultural resilience of Indian tangible and intangible
heritage.
